The Genie and My Dream

 A genie appeared in my dream and said ”two wishes I’ll grant you”

 My husband said he heard me scream

“That’s too good to be true!” 

“Make my bank balance like my laundry basket, No matter how much laundry I do (withdraw), it seems to refill by itself”

Said the genie “That’s an issue faced by so many girls, my dear

Trust me you’re not alone”

I then said “Wouldn’t it be great if my bank balance increases as fast as my weight?

The genie laughed and said much as I would love to grant you this, there are something’s a genie just can’t do!

And so I woke up from my sleep because sometimes dreams don’t come true

You always arrive where you are meant to be, not where you intended to go. And so, I found myself unexpectedly in Mumbai, pacing up and down the staircase outside the ICU where my mother was admitted. It was a traumatizing sight that afternoon; I had met her for the first time since her brain surgery, her beautiful soft hair, her crowning glory, had been shaved off. She had a row of staples running down her beautiful bald head from the center all the way to the back and left, marking the spot where the neurosurgeon had exposed her brain to remove the clot that was threatening to send her into a coma. Her face lit up brightly as she saw me walk into the ICU. A slight grimace as she struggled to recognize me and then magically that thousand-watt smile when she remembered it was me! It took a superhuman effort to push back the tempest of tears threatening to betray my composure as I walked up to her, held her hand, and told her that she looked absolutely perfect as she did every day. ...

A piece of eternity, is eternity still like love is, I suppose can a part of anything, ever be less than the whole is a drop of water not wet or a singular ray, not light is a patch of sky, less than itself can infinity be, little or more? is the piece of Divinity in us not The Divine Mother herself through the entire Existence who projects herself forth? can something that wasn’t ever be? can something that is not be anymore? or, do we drift on a raft on the river of time and what is and isn’t are just our shifting gaze upon the shore maybe everything that ever will be, always was and nothing really  comes or goes maybe our senses play tricks upon us walking us through a maze they themselves put forth can something that wasn’t ever be can something that is  not  exist anymore? can anything quite, ever be less than the whole Atul Singh
